A Little bit about us
The Canberra Rod and Kustom Klub was formed in March 1996 by
a group of friends who felt that the Canberra/Queanbeyan region needed a meeting
place for people with a keen interest in Hot Rods, Kustoms, classic’s and the
general 50’s Rock n Roll lifestyle.
The need for a club that catered for both Rods and Kustoms
was identified due to the recent resurgence of the Kustom car movement in
Australia. This has proven to be
very popular with people who want to go back to a time when you packed all your
buddies in your Chevy, Ford, Hudson, Cadillac or Holden and just went Kroozin
for the sake of Kroozin.
The Canberra Rod and Kustom Klub was created for good
fun and friendship with an emphasis on promoting family involvement.
We hold informal monthly meetings plus organise numerous cruises, bowling
nights, BBQ’s, garage scenes, monthly events and we attend many local and
interstate rod runs. We are
involved in the Canberra Rod and Kustom Kroose held on the January long weekend,
and encourage as many members to become involved in helping out with the show as
well as the trophy building.
The Canberra Rod and Kustom Klub prides itself on
having a committed membership base which helps in ensuring the ongoing success
of the club, as well as the sensible promotion of Hot Rods and Kustoms in the
Canberra/Queanbeyan region.
So, if you own or are building a Hot Rod or pre 1965 Kustom
of American, Australian or English origin, (other years and makes considered by
members discretion), and you like the idea of being an active member of a
successful Rod and Kustom club, we would love to hear from you.
