The Chassis

Welding up spare holes in the chassis rails
Mounting the Marina sway bar, 8 mm plates

welded in to the Chassis, and tapped threads

Rear bump stops, the originals were rusty and were only a plate

(the rubber stop was mounted on the diff

I mounted Toyota Corolla rubber bump stops to allow the correct clearance between the tyre and rear guard

Engine mounts, 8 mm plates welded into the chassis rail

this is a nice clean way to set up engine mounts

2 bolts secure each mount

Front suspension mounted, including VW (Type three) heavy duty oil filled tube shocks, these are much better than Mini shocks some people use as there is more travel and the oil filled shocks give a great ride.
Front Hubs, I machined from 160mm billet steel, about 6 hours work in each hub. KA Ford Lazer Disks, Corolla Bolt pattern 114.3 mm PCD

Traction Bar set up

Front suspension eye bolt welded into chassis cross member

rear bracket uses another eye bolt turned down and threaded to 14 mm

Machined tube and bracket mounted to the top 4 bolts holding the diff cover on

Connecting rod is 4 lower control arms

Rear tyres are 9 mm from the coach bolts

and best of all it works, no more shudder.

Diff shortened 30 mm to get the wheel track OK for VSB14. Track is now 15mm over original.

One side shortened 18mm other 12mm, tail shaft will also be more centred now

Both axles shortened 12 mm.

Welds ground down and you would never know

good penetration through the pipe from welding
