The Suicide Doors

Original B Pillar removed and then

replaced with a B pillar from

a 4 door sedan.

LH pillar placed on the RH side and

visa versa to get the hinges to work

Semaphore section removed and section

smoothed out

Cabin back welded to replaced B pillar
To make the doors work I used about 60mm

of the rear doors from a 4 door sedan, and most of the original doors from the Ute.

Both sections were set up using the hinges, trimmed to fit then removed from the car and welded together

A section of flat steel has been welded to the bottom of the door for a smooth look.

The quarter vent window has been moved forward about 80mm to give a better profile to the door.

Electric windows have also been fitted.

The front edge of the doors had the indents of the original hinges so cover plates were made and welded in.

The door catch has been set up with the lock mechanism in the A Pillar and just the locating pin in the door

Door Handle removed and a section from a rear door welded into place
Bear catches placed in the A pillar

Keyless entry, Remote solenoid place on the sill

TEX Bullet mirrors
Doors set up

Lots of work to get the doors done

Doors ready for silver paint, Fatmat laid down.

Door glass slight tint, 6 mm toughened
